THANKS for GIVING

This year, we are so thankful for all of you who have chosen to Share YOUR Spare.

With your generous donations, we were able to provide these families with the children’s clothing, toys and supplies they so desperately needed.

We truly appreciate your support over the last few months and are looking forward to helping many more families together in the future.  Happy Thanksgiving! .

Wishlist #8 – Baby Kailani

Last week we met a wonderful family that had fallen on very difficult times.

In October, Wanda was laid off from her job where she worked for more than 10 years.  She has yet to find a new job and her husband, Albert, also is looking for work.  With no income (Wanda’s last paycheck was October 20), the family was forced to leave their apartment and have been using their savings to stay in hotels in order to provide a warm bed for their five-month old daughter, Kailani.

Baby Kailani was in urgent need of diapers and formula.  We were able to provide an immediate supply and within 72 hours we were able to share the following:

1  – Bottle Drying Rack

13 –  Nipples (Stage 3)

8 – Bottles

80oz of Enfamil Formula

378 – Diapers

1104 – Wipes

12  – Jars Baby Food

1 Box – Rice cereal

40 – Items of Clothing 6-12 mos

1 – Winter Snowsuit

2 – Carseat / Stroller Toys

1  – Teething Toy

2 – Tubes diaper ointment/cream

1 – Baby Lotion

1 – Baby Shampoo/Soap

We are so proud of the Share Our Spare™community for their quick and generous response to this emergency situation.  A special thank you to everyone who contributed; Wanda, Albert and Baby Kailani are extremely grateful for your support.

Update on Gan Shalom School Partnership — Wishlist #4 – Wishlist #7

We are so grateful for each and every family at Gan Shalom that ‘shared their spare’ to help our four October families. Together, we collected an incredible number of items to share, including 2000+ wipes, 1000+ diapers, 300+ clothing items, 80+ books, 30+ blankets and much, much more!

We are so excited that our first school partnership has been such a huge success.  We can’t wait to roll out collection drives in other classrooms over the next few months!

Keep the donations coming!

A huge thank you to THE LOCK UP for donating a storage locker to Share Our Spare™! We are so happy to finally have a place to keep donations until they are ready to be received by our families.

Here are a few photos of us organizing our current inventory last week.

As you can see, the storage locker is FULL of extra toys, books, clothing and other basic supplies for infants and toddlers.  We can’t wait to share everything! .

Update on the Munoz Family

How exciting to be able to report on another successful drive!

We are so appreciative of everyone who took the time to gather up their ‘spare’ to share with the Munoz family. It is incredibly gratifying to see a family’s reaction when they walk in and see all of the items we’ve collected on their behalf.

Because of you, we were able to give little Jaziel (age 9 months) so many of the basic necessities he would otherwise lack.  We also successfully collected clothing, books and games for his big brothers, Gael (age 5) and Yael (age 12).  Maria was especially excited about a first words picture book that she thought would be a great tool to teach her boys and herself English.

Despite the language barrier between us, we could see how grateful (and surprised!) Maria was to be receiving so many items.  Thanks to our translator, Matty, Maria was able to tell us how helpful everything would be for her boys.  We hope that our small contributions will help to alleviate some of the unimaginable stress that Maria and her family are experiencing right now.

Among the items collected for this family:

  • Baby food
  • Backpacks for school
  • Bath toys
  • Blankets
  • Books
  • Changing pad
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Clothes
  • Coats
  • Diapers
  • Diaper Pail
  • Formula
  • Games
  • Highchair
  • Jumparoo
  • Toys
  • Toilet paper

A huge thank you to More Than Milk, whose volunteers collected items for the Munoz family at the recent Babies Tots n’ More consignment event.  We could not have done it without you!  And of course, thank you to everyone at the Common Pantry for partnering with us on another successful drive.
